Meet the founder

Hi, I'm Charlotte.

I've spent nearly a decade in childcare, in private nurseries and primary schools. I work regularly with children with special educational needs, so I know how to help every child feel comfortable, included and safe, even somewhere as busy and exciting as a wedding.

I started Happy Little Guests because parents enjoy a big day so much more when they know their children are in good hands. I lead every booking personally.

Under 2s

Babies need closer care, so they have their own carers at a ratio of 1 to 3. Each extra carer is £170 for a short event or £250 for a full event.

Larger groups

Beyond what two carers can legally look after, we add carers at the same rates, plus £40 per extra hour after 6. The calculator works it all out for you.

FAQs

Good questions

What space do you need at the venue?

A separate room or a sectioned-off area close to the main event works best. We check the space with your venue before the day and bring everything else.

Can you support children with additional needs?

Yes. Charlotte works regularly with children with SEN. Tell us about each child when you book and we'll plan quiet space, routines and activities around them.

Why do under 2s cost extra?

The legal ratio for under 2s is one carer to three children, so babies need their own carers on top of the two included in the package.

Are your staff checked and insured?

Every carer is enhanced DBS checked and paediatric first aid trained, and we hold full insurance for every event.

Are you Ofsted registered?

Event crèches like ours are exempt from Ofsted registration under the Childcare (Exemptions from Registration) Order 2008. We notify Ofsted in writing before every event, follow their staffing ratios, and keep their confirmation on file for your booking.

How much notice do you need?

Two weeks lets us notify Ofsted and run a full day. For bookings inside two weeks we can still help, with each child staying up to 4 hours.
